This black-and-white artwork features a striking metallic bridge structure, composed of sharp geometric lines and bold shadows. The angular beams frame the scene, creating a tunnel-like perspective that draws the viewer’s eye toward the distant horizon. The interplay of light and shadow adds depth and texture, enhancing the architectural strength of the design.
The open sky with soft clouds contrasts the rigid industrial elements, highlighting the juxtaposition between the natural and man-made worlds. The minimalist yet powerful composition evokes a sense of solitude and contemplation within an urban environment.
For photographer Amadeus Long, photography initially served as a form of meditation—a way to escape his inner world and embrace the simplicity of seeing, rather than thinking. He began exploring photography at a time when he was deeply fascinated by society. Having reached a point in life where he felt the need to completely relearn how to engage with people, society, and the world, Long likened the experience to that of someone recovering from a major accident, relearning to use their limbs. In his case, it was about rediscovering how to use his mind and senses fully.
